TAMPA, FL – Labor and employment law firm Johnson Jackson PLLC today announced Founding Shareholder Erin Jackson has been elected President of the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers (HAWL) for 2022-2023. HAWL is Hillsborough County’s chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers and is dedicated to promoting gender equality in the legal profession.
“I am grateful to be able to serve our approximately 300 members and am honored to follow the incredible line-up of women who have led HAWL,” Jackson says of her role with the organization. “We endeavor to be one of the most active and supportive voluntary bar associations in the state as we are committed to our mission of promoting gender equality under the law. HAWL provides its members with opportunities to participate in creative programming, and we take pride in the engagement of our membership.”
Jackson has been a member of HAWL for 10 years, having previously served in the positions of Secretary, Vice President of Membership, Vice President of Programs, and President-Elect. Among its programming, HAWL provides members with continuing legal education, mentorship, networking opportunities, pro bono and community service opportunities, and social events.
“HAWL encourages women to pursue their professional and personal goals while enriching their legal careers through meaningful connection with others,” says Jackson. “I hope that we are able to expand our reach this year and grow our membership so that more attorneys in Hillsborough will join us in achieving our mission.”
Jackson’s term as President of HAWL runs through June 2023. Jackson was also recently selected for inclusion in the 29th Edition of Best Lawyers in America© and was recognized as one of the top 50 women attorneys in Florida in 2022 by Super Lawyers Magazine.
