TAMPA, FL – Tampa-based labor and employment law firm Johnson Jackson PLLC today announced the expansion of its team with a key new hire. Mary Virginia Ballantyne has joined as an Associate Attorney and will be assisting clients in both the public and private sectors on various employment-related matters.
“We are delighted to announce the addition of Mary Virginia to our team,” says Johnson Jackson Founding Shareholder, Erin Jackson. “With her background in labor and employment law and exceptional writing and analytical skills, we are confident that she will deliver outstanding results for our clients.”
“My number one priority in joining this firm is to provide exceptional service to our clients and serve as a trusted advisor and resource,” Ballantyne says. “Employers of all sizes and types face numerous challenges and legal hurdles. I want our clients to trust that their attorneys are not only tackling these challenges, but also providing the best defense for them.”
Ballantyne hails from Virginia and graduated cum laude from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA. She earned her J.D. from Wake Forest Law School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina after working four years as an early-childhood teacher in the charter school system of inner-city Washington, DC. In her role with Johnson Jackson, Ballantyne will assist in the litigation of a variety of employment defense matters in both federal and state court, as well as help in the investigation and defense of EEOC/FCHR charges and other pre-litigation demands and/or internal complaints.
“Everyone at the firm works collaboratively with each other—there is always someone willing to let you pick their brain or offer a helping hand if you need it,” Ballantyne says. “Johnson Jackson provides an environment where I have excellent mentors from whom I can learn, model, and develop the ways in which I practice law. Ultimately, the support, respect, dedication to teamwork,
and my personal growth are all reasons I feel confident in joining this firm.”
Johnson Jackson relocated its offices earlier this year to 100 N. Tampa Street, Suite 1800 in downtown Tampa. The addition of Ballantyne to the firm now brings its total attorney roster up to eight.
“While we are proud of the reputation for strong client service that we have already established, we are even more excited about the future growth and achievements that lie ahead,” Jackson says. “We continue to reinforce our commitment to excellence as we strategically expand our labor and employment practice.”
